Dizzy Dots is a one-of-a-kind hand-cut wooden jigsaw puzzle featuring the wonderfully disorienting artwork of Kristy Prageter. A seemingly simple field of black dots bends, stretches, twists and folds across the image, creating the illusion of a three-dimensional surface in constant motion.
Measuring approximately 10.5" x 6.5" and containing 180 individually hand-cut pieces, this puzzle offers considerably more challenge than its piece count might suggest. The repeating black-and-white pattern provides few of the familiar color and object clues normally used to assemble a puzzle. Instead, the puzzler must follow subtle changes in the size, shape, direction and distortion of the dots to find their way through the image.
The puzzle is cut by hand, one piece at a time, on a scroll saw. There are no computer-generated or laser-cut piece patterns. The irregular cutting style avoids predictable rows and columns and creates a wide variety of interlocking shapes, so every piece is truly unique.
Even the edge adds to the challenge. Rather than a traditional straight border, Dizzy Dots features an irregular interlocking edge, eliminating one of the easiest starting points found in most jigsaw puzzles.
Made from quality wooden puzzle stock, the finished puzzle has the substantial feel and character that you simply don't get from a mass-produced cardboard puzzle.
